About The Empress

A historic building. Three private stays.

The Empress sits in the heart of historic Old Bisbee — Victorian and mining-era streets, canyon hillsides, and a town that still feels quirky, walkable, and warmly human. We’re preparing three private short-term rentals in the building, each with its own character.

This site is an introduction while we finish furnishing. Booking will open when the stays are ready. Until then, you’re welcome to ask questions, share dates you’re eyeing, or join the opening list.

  • National Register This building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
  • Multi-unit stays Three named units under one historic roof — book one, or inquire about gathering as a group.
  • Not a hotel Warm, historic, a little quirky — the Bisbee way. Details and photos arrive as each unit is finished.
  • Opening soon Units are being furnished now. We’ll share booking when everything is ready for guests.

Why Bisbee

Heart of Old Bisbee

Right across the street from the Copper Queen Mine, with Main Street’s galleries, cafés, shops, and saloons a short walk from the front door.

Copper Queen Mine

Walk across the street and join a tour that takes you underground — hard hat, lamp, and a real piece of Bisbee’s mining story.

Walkable Main Street

Galleries, antique shops, cafés, saloons, and live music are close enough that many guests leave the car parked for the whole stay.

Stairs, art & festivals

Hundreds of steps wind the canyon hillsides. There’s something on year-round — the monthly 2nd Saturday Art Walk, the Bisbee 1000 Stair Climb in October, parades, home tours, and quirky local traditions.

Old Bisbee is hilly and stair-filled — that’s part of the charm. Guests with limited mobility should plan ahead. Parking and access details will be confirmed before booking opens. Bring good walking shoes and a sense of curiosity.
